Limit screen time and stay active indoors

Turn off TVs, computers, phones, tablets, and other screens. Substitute 1 hour of physical activity for 1 hour of screen time a day.

Take family screen time breaks throughout the day to release energy and promote physical and emotional wellbeing. Design a hopscotch pattern using masking tape, build an obstacle course with furniture and pillows, play balloon volleyball, or put on some music and just dance! Does your family live in an apartment with neighbors below? Head out to the hallway and try a lunge or crab walk contest. For kids able to safely navigate the stairs, hopping up and down the steps is a fun way to increase the heart rate and build some bones and muscles – remember to hold onto the railing for balance!
