Apricots 10 Ways

Fresh, ripe, apricots are irresistible and are one of the most nutritious fruits available. They are rich in beta-carotene, Vitamin C, potassium, iron, Vitamin A, copper, and lycopene. They are also very high in fiber, low in saturated fat and sodium and do not contain any cholesterol.

Here are 10 suggested ways to use apricots!

Spicy Grilled Apricots – Sprinkle apricot halves with a pinch of chili powder then, grill until warm and serve with grilled meats. (Grill separately from raw meats!)

Icy Apricot Pops – Wash and freeze a few apricots. Then, in a blender, combine the apricots and skim milk, freeze in ice cube trays or popsicle molds

Apricot Yogurt Parfait – Layer yogurt, sliced apricots, granola, and whatever else you like for breakfast or a snack

Apricot Oatmeal  –Top oatmeal with sliced apricots and a few nuts for a power-up breakfast

Sassy Summer Salad – Top your salad with sliced apricots for a hint of sweetness

PB & A – Use apricot halves instead of jams or jellies on your peanut butter sandwich

Bake, Broil or Sauté – For a delicious dessert, warm apricot slices using one of these three cooking methods then, add a little cinnamon and enjoy
