Fall Fitness Close to Home

MyPlate walkersFall activities are even more pleasant when it’s cooler outside and the scenery is changing. Grab a jacket, comfortable shoes, and try some of these activities:

  • Take a walk through your neighborhood or local park to see the changing colors of Fall
  • Get the whole family involved – Turn leaf-raking and other Autumn yard work into fun family activities
  • Do stretches or exercises while watching TV
  • Dance or clean the house to your favorite music

Physical Activity–  Get at Least 30 Minutes a Day for Real Health Benefits

  • Make sure to do at least 10 minutes of activity at a time
  • Shorter bursts of activity will not have the same health benefits
  • Walk the dog, take a 10-minute walking break at work, or park farther away. It all adds up to your daily 30-minute goal
